Only The Good Die Young

This past Friday America mourned for the loss Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son. Right now the Vikings star is trying to keep matter private which is obviously normal given the tragic circumstances. This kind of news is hard to comprehend, especially when a child is allegedly killed. It was later discovered that his son was in fact brutally abused to death by Joseph Robert Patterson, 27. If convicted he will could essentially be in jail up to 40 years with an additional $80,000 fine. The news spread quickly across the Country, and Adrian surprisingly was the first to expand his gratitude on Twitter.

This just reinforces how much he actually looks to his fans as a structured support system. Above all, he realizes what it means to give back to the fans even in troubled times. His teammates weren't forgotten either, he made a shout out to his fraternity brothers for all the phone calls, tweets, and texts. I think Adrian acted in a very professional matter, and honestly he is expected to act that way. He could have exploded on Twitter using profanity toward Patterson, but instead he took the high road. Below is a picture of LeBron James, Miami Heat star, he was among the most vocal and sympathetic throughout this emotional rollercoaster.

LeBron definitely expressed his condolences on Twitter as well, creating a hash tag #SickforAP.

  1. This was a very sad situation for Mr. Peterson to learn that a son he never knew died. It's even worst to see that social media posted a picture of his son who is currently living stating that he died. Social Media has a huge audience and it's so easy to post information that isn't accurate. When I seen the picture of Peterson and his son I thought it was the child who was killed. This information was later revealed online that it wasn't his son. This is so bad because this information was re- tweeted all day until the TV stations cleared it up. Social media is just hard to trust for accurate information.

  2. I'm still in awe that the boy in this picture is not actually the boy that was killed. The toddler in this photograph with Peterson is his son, Adrian Peterson Jr. The toddler that actually died was Peterson's son, but he didn't know that until recently. He didn't even live with the child that was killed. I think it's just sad how the media just placed this photo all over social media to trick the audience that this was Peterson's son that was killed. I'm not going to lie, I believed it. The media does some pretty wild things for publicity.

  3. I still cannot believe this happened and how someone can be so cruel. It is horrible that he did not know it was his son and I am sure he feels awful. However, I think it was wrong for the media to post pictures of the wrong son and saying he died. This is a very tragic situation for Peterson and the media should of made sure their facts, including pictures, were correct before going public with the information.

  4. I agree with you, Adrian Peterson could've exploded and said some very harsh things about the guy but he didn't and that shows class. It's very sad what happened to that young boy because no child deserves that. I hope that the guy goes to jail forever and never comes out. I don't understand who will do something like that to a young child. The media should get their information correct before they post pictures.
